Masters 2017 final round

Post by Admin on Sun Apr 09, 2017 8:01 am

It is hard to know where things fell apart on Saturday. Looking back missing the eagle putt on #2 was followed by the wayward drive at #3

Followed by a poor third shot and weak fourth and then missed putts at that hole and others. Things just fell to pieces all day.

You have to be razor sharp at Augusta at all times. PHIL was so close several times this week at -3 and could not keep the play up to his standards.

Golf at this level is hard, hard and harder. Hope springs eternal so let's go PHIL

well, let's hope for a top-10? please? and not fall back into the middle of the pack or lower by trying to make a miracle happen.

Too many strong players ahead of Phil even with a miracle round to win. He does need a low round and a top ten to keep the positives going in the right direction. If he shoots over par today the press won't be kind.

Poor Ernie shot 11 over yesterday. At least Phil didn't go there. I actually thought that his round could have ended up worse. Lucky to be just 2 over, IMO.

pin positions not really set up for birdies

front middle on 15. We've never seen that position. Far back left on 16. Too far back to hit it close

he makes the eagle so what does he do on 3?

He hits iron into the bunker for the THIRD STRAIGHT DAY

Hit the damn driver, he's actually hitting it straight this week!

Phil reminds me of the Buffalo Sabres head coach Dan Bylsma. Refusing to adjust given the circumstances

Only positive is old school math problem

2004 2006 2010 ............... What # comes next? 2018 of course(guess you could argue 2016 as the 2-4-6). The gap keeps doubling 2-4-8

saw he was level after 2 and now +3 on 3/4. tough to watch after high hopes the 1st 27 holes.

After the double he knows ZERO chance to win. I expect a high 70s round because he will fire at every pin regardless of where it is. Just like he did on the 4th...now +3.

another 3 whack. This time from 7 feet

One thing about Phil from his Feherity interview struck me. He said you have to be really dumb or really smart to be good at golf. In between is dangerous. Phil is in between. He has some knowledge, but is not smart enough to avoid problems. If he were really smart, he'd let Bones decide ALL strategy and EVERY shot Phil hits. All Phil would do is swing the club

Someone needs to pressure Rose. Sergio is in trouble and Peiters just bogied. Afraid Rose is going to be able to coast on in.

Gosh, Sergio is turning into Phil here....and Justin probably licking his chops, thinking I'm going to be ahead by 3 after this hole. Please, not Justin.

OK, seems like all my picks faulter....so I'm changing my pick to Go Justin!! Let's try that strategy.
