Mexico WGC round 3

Phil needs a stellar weekend. Go Phil.
Bones will start the round and see how it goes.

They been saying all week DJ not putting good and was shooting good scores despite that. He starts eagle birdie and us now tied for lead.

Phil might have to step up his game to keep pace tomorrow, but he always gets in trouble when he tries to force things and takes lots of chances. Hope Bones is ok.

Phils trying to kill it. These fairways are way to narrow for him to be swinging out of his shoes.

Phil is playing like a fool. This is the worst I've seen him hit driver in a long time yet he continues to go to it off the tee. After great breaks/recovery shots, looks like it will catch up to him on 12.

Can't believe how bad he's driving it. Could easily be out of it soon if this keeps up.

Bones too sick to stop his insanity.

About to drop out of the top 10. We'll see if he blows up again. Phil can't keep it together for four rounds anymore. Maybe he'll pull another rabbit or two out of the hat, but the late career flourish he's talked about, doesn't look like it will materialize.

Amazingly Phil could be leading this thing, but at the same time could easily be 5 shots worse. Really showing these kids in Mexico what a magic show looks like.

Great to see Phil contending late in the 3rd round.

Great comeback, but an awful bogey on 18. Not sure what to expect tomorrow. Phil has putted beautifully. Sunday nerves could change that. Those foul balls off the tee could finally get him as well. Or maybe he scrapped a decent round out of what could have been his killer day and tomorrow he turns it on.

Terrible ending but still in this. Nerves will come into play tomorrow plus these fairways are terrible for his game.

When Rory putted out, it put him in the final round. Not sure if it would have been good for Phil to play with DJ or not, but I also don't know what playing with Rahm will do. I think Phil has really been fantastic to still be in this. When Fisher was playing irons and hitting fairways, I was wishing Phil would do the same, but Fisher would up worse off than Phil. Phil has to play his game, and the wilder it is, I think the more he relishes it. I agree about Bones not being up to giving Phil the needed counsel. He's not in a bad place being in next to tee time. I almost quit watching, as it was getting on my nerves. LOL

I am back and PHIL was so close to the lead today but a few bogies side tracked!!
