Phoenix Round three 2017

PHIL and I both need to low today. I will be out on the course playing in our crisp 50 degrees but sunny day here in Memphis area. 30 degrees right now!

I suspect it will be nicer then that in Arizona.

-1 through 6 ain't gonna do it. Some guys are going low early. Phil misses the fairway on the reachable par 5 and pars it. He hits a 315 yard drive center cup and his approach is 32 ft away. He also has missed 2 putts inside 12 feet. I'm sure he's not a happy camper right now!!

Phil heard me sinks a 26 ft bird on par 3. Let's Go Phil!!!!!!

Bogey on 9 stalls the progress. Very typical of the past year. Phil seems to struggle with 'those' type of putts from inside 10 feet that can either hault or maintain momentum. When he plays well, he just seems to do enough wrong not to win.

The par 5s here can be reached in 2 and Phil has a mental block. He can hit a 315 yrs drive in fairway on any hole but a par 5. Very frustrating

Easy birdies on 13 and 15. Needs a couple more on these final three holes. Not a great tee shot on 16 to 30 feet.

Good round, but probably a few shots back of having a realistic chance to win. Just missed birdie on 18; misses on 9 and 11 also hurt.

We need the leaders to stumble and there are just too many scoring opportunities on the back 9. Phil unfortunately lost ground with his 2nd round score.

250 thou plus today in attendance there. My son is there and says it's crazy. His friend is entertaining clients and he's holding down the 16th for the second day in a row. Crazy. Hope Phil can go low again tomorrow. I have dinner plans and hope to be home before he finishes his round!
