I guess the jinx us in Phil said smooth greens earmy out will be an advantage and he has missed a 6 ft. Birdie and 4 ft par save in first 3 holes. Ughhh

The flatstick is killing him so far this week. Two missed putts inside of 6 feet in 3 holes to start his Saturday.
Phil is actually striking the ball decently, considering his lack of reps.

It really puzzles me how often Phil over spins his shots with a wedge.

After a birdie on 1, a miss from 4 feet on two. Should be only a few back, but his putting has been brutal.

Phil has missed about 4 putts inside 7 feet today. I know they say the greens aren't that good but geezzzzzz

Another makeable birdie is missed. This time from 8 feet. Very frustrating.

68 is a solid round.
But those four missed putts from inside eight feet loom large, with Phil just four shots back at the moment.

They are amazed that Phil is playing so well. He thinks he'll be 100% healthwise next week. Said he likely jumped the gun but wanted to play. The announcers said that he and Bones both need rest. I think it's amazing that he's playing this well, really. Hasn't been able to do his complete workout yet, and only done anything for a week or two. He and Bones must have tired legs, as this is supposedly a tough track to walk. Hope for a good round tomorrow.
