Ryder Cup Day 2

Post by Admin on Sat Oct 01, 2016 8:16 am

and yes PHIL/Rory are out early. A 5-3 lead is great but the USA needs to build momentum today. It is the story of the 12 and Captain Clarke is putting out his last two rookies this morning. He hid them on Friday while Davis Love played all 12 of his folks today.

Ironically historically USA does better in Four balls but swept Foursomes on Friday. PHIL does better in Fourballs but only played Foursomes.

So obviously today is critical for team USA and PHIL. The Euros have pushed out two Rookies this morning --technically 4 rookies but two played on Friday. If PHIL and Rory do well they may both play in the afternoon. PHIL might rest if he struggles a bit but Four balls is his game!! Stay tuned.

GO PHIL and team USA

Why the heck are they pairing Phil/Rickie against Rory again.... they caught lightening in a bottle once already, not likely twice. Can't believe that pairing unless they figure it's a losing pairing to the Euro's best player.

Ugh....Do not like the Phil and Rickie pairing...Phil lobbied for him to be on team even though Rickie was off form. Then he pushed to be paired with him and both came in struggling and it is evident that they are outmatched. 3 down thru 7

Phil is under pressure and focus is on him for his comments and his de facto Captaincy and work with the Task force

Funny that Butch coached Phil Tiger and Rickie and all 3 not good drivers of the ball.
Hate losing to Rory I thin phil should have played 4 ball. Phil wasn't perfect today but better than Rickie

Besides the long putt, Phil did not play well. I was hoping before this Ryder Cup that Phil would be paired up with Zach Johnson, just like last year's President's Cup. Phil will have enough rest for tomorrow's singles play. I hope he goes out early.

You can actually use Google Maps to walk the golf course. Never knew you could do that. In this image, I am pretty sure that is Rory also

Nice to see Phil wake up and make that long birdie to win the hole. Would be nice if he and Kuchar can get the win here.

Phil hit more fairways and made putts.if he continues I think he can beat Sergio. I was hoping for Westwood pairing too. Smile felt bad for Westy but thrilled for the full point .

Lots of great things being said about Phil's leadership and his play. The players love and respect him. Win or lose, they're positively headed in the right direction. Phil will be totally redeemed with a win! JMO

I was laughing at Sirius PGA Tour radio announcer saying Phil will actually miss all the fairways tomorrow and Sergio will hit all the fairways but make nothing, and Phil will make/convert everything...he gave round to Phil, lol.
