And we are off! Phil birdies 10 and 12 and is -2 through 3 holes!

bogey on 14...couldn't get up and down from 50 yards after driving it in the fairway bunker and having to lay up

-6 was the winning score last year. Just no big numbers.

Re: Honda Classic, Round One
PHIL has started fast every week so far this year. Every week.
1st 9 holes for 1st round scoring has been to be crazy for PHIL this year.

Re: Honda Classic, Round One
Phil sticks it to 5 feet from 120 out and makes bird on the par five 18th!
He is now alone in first at -3 (through nine holes)
On to the front nine! Hopefully Phil can finish strong.

Re: Honda Classic, Round One
For the second hole in a row, Phil appears to have used iron off of the tee...and still missed the fairway... :-(

16-17 can't attacked too hard today.
Lag putting for pars today.
great bird at #18 but apparently missed his short putt at #2--back to -2

Re: Honda Classic, Round One
missed four footer on 2?
That is a rough bogey after a nice third shot seemed to ensure a par
-2 through 11

what we don't want is the tale of 2 nines. Phil played tough nine 1st and did great. anything under par is good here

Re: Honda Classic, Round One
Seems every time Phil is on a short par 5 he misses the fairway. He is trying too hard to get a bounce back from the bogey on the last hole.

Re: Honda Classic, Round One
Phil needs an up and down to make birdie at the par 5 third hole

Re: Honda Classic, Round One
I hope that chip was really hard, because Phil sure didn't hit that close - from 98 feet away in the fairway, Phil hits it 35 feet past and off the green? Yikes.

Strokes a good putt, but it grazes the lip and doesn't drop.
