Pebble Beach Final Round 2016

This is where we want PHIL every week. In the final group or next to final group. This is three weeks out of four right now. That is very impressive. PHIL faltered last weekend but started 4 strokes out. Today he has the lead. Clearly alot will be on his mind so I hope for a calmness for PHIL and that the hard work he has put in will be rewarded.

If Phil can get 3 birdies in the front nine, I feel pretty confident that he will win today. Just hope he does not have a brain fart and does something stupid.

Hoping the guy, paired with him,struggles with the huge Phil galleries. "If" Phil can't get it done, I would have no problems with Jacobson.

Just showed Phil is taking the head off a driver.Hope he isn't thinking too much an hour before tee time.This is a big moment today dont think he hasn't been aware of the press writing he and Tiger off the last 2 years.

Jacobson worries me the most and just birdied 1. Phil looks to have a tap in par.

These announcers are jinxing him repeating how easy these shots are

Phil had it in the fairway at the par 5 2nd and had iron in hand but hit in the right bunker and could not get it up and in from 17 feet so just a par...would have been nice to get a birdie their on the rest of the field...then took driver off tee at short par 4 3rd and went way left and has no green to work with...bit of an error their...needed to stay right off tee...just not quite taking advantage of chances to put some distance between him and the field.

Wow...Phil is really out thinking himself again...could have just hit a wedge 20 feet to right of pin and he tries a chip and run and leaves himself short and in awful spot now.

Why are the EASY holes so difficult for Phil???????

Short par 4 that Phil could have easily played iron off tee for position and instead hits a bad drive and a strange second which left him with nothing for a 3rd...just making it really hard on himself when he is leading and in great position if he pars most and throws a few birdies in...just does not need to be making unforced errors. Has 10 feet for par now.

Phil makes a very serviceable par at 3...would have been a shame to drop a shot there.

Phil hits hybrid off the short par 4 4th and is nicely in fairway...would love for him to get a birdie here and get 3 up.

Phil looks horrible right now. really hope he rights the ship soon or someone is going to lap him.

Very nervy start for Phil, not looking good.

Phil misses green from 88 yards...went left and into the bunker...not a good shot at all.

Phil needs to just relax and have fun if at all possible...he is in control of tournament and just needs to stay focused. He is not playing as smart or as tactical as possible...also obviously is not striking the ball like he would want thus far.

Awful bogey. +1 thru four pretty easy holes.

Only saving grace is everyone else is struggling also.

Iwata also bogies, Jacobson chunks his chip.

Horrible bogie for Phil at 4...hit a bad approach and instead of playing it below hole he did not think it through and went past hole and had tough 8 foot downhill putt for par he did not make.

Phil is nervous. Don't know how you combat that with his circumstances when you bogey from 89 yrds in fairway

Bogey for Freddy Jac, lead for Phil back to two.

Another poor shot, this time with a short iron. Fourth straight missed green.

Phil is just thinking too much out there right now...really nervy and wobbly...just took an 8 iron which was at least a club and half too short at par 3 5th and blocked it left and well short...not sure what he is doing but will need to right ship here soon...just don't like the strategy he is using right now.

So so putt from the front edges leaves a seven footer for par.
