That fence deal....my son did that with a chain link fence in a tournament when he was 14 or so....was sitting under the forked link....he hops the fence with his wedge, and hits the fence/ball and it scuttled 20 feet to the green and through the green.

The two doubles are the two of the easiest holes of this course.

Lost focus IMO. he thought he was going to play great today and it looks like a struggle to make cut if he doesnt regroup

He is rushing the last hole and looks like a bogey now. If you at least make cut, anything can happen on the south course

from contention and a great round on the South to a missed cut and lousy round on the North...tough way to finish off this tourney

It's pretty embarrassing for him after all the interviews and feeling so good. I guess we just have to accept Phil is a roller coaster player. That's ok as long as he can start winning again SOON.

Wow, I'm flabbergasted....I thought this year was different. I really hate the positive spin he puts out on himself.... I'm just 'this close', I'm "1 week away from being there", lol. Back to the drawing board.....can't play from the rough. I thought it was clear years ago when they started tightening fairways in lots of places and growing deeper rough. On the easier course as well....ugh, embarrassing, swallow a bit of pride and try again next week.
Well, I need to work on a grant proposal and my annual review document this weekend, so better off I don't have to watch the tournament, lol. Thanks Phil, for helping me get my work done this week.

I thought that they were good to Phil on the tv broadcast. They said that these things happen when you're making swing changes. They aren't natural enough for him to just swing, so he's being mechanical and not playing his shots by feel. Tough rough, and I think he has bad thoughts about the North Course anyway. I really wasn't positive he'd play well this week, and I have not given up hope for this year. His short game is too good to have gone by the wayside overnight! He was not being patient on the last hole when he just got in the trap and took a swing. Looked like a little boy who was mad. LOL Next week is another week. I am happy to have the time this week-end myself!

PHIL was just a little off this week. I might add he is miffed at Torrey Pines--too much baggage
Re: Farmers San Diego Classic 2nd Round 2016
Disappointing round for Phil...could have played a decent round on the NC Andre been right in thick of things. Seemed like he sorta phones it in...thing that is tough is that if you just make the weekend here you can win as the South Course can be a beast. Hoping this is a blip and part of his transition and not indicative of the rest of the year but you never know what to expect from Phil.

hmmm.... not showing. On PGAtour.com there is a video of phil having to stand out of bounds and hitting a shot with the toe of his hybrid under an out of bounds fence

Can't bid on the redesign, can't make the cut. That's the price of living in California. Makes perfect since.

As sorry as I was to see Phil miss the cut, after viewing the mess out there today, there is no way that would have helped his game. I hope he's in AZ practicing like a dog! May have been a blessing in disguise. The bad weather was forecast for today. Maybe he rushed his shots on the last hole on purpose. Jimmy Walker, however, who was either tied with Phil or behind him on Fri. has rallied!

Re: Farmers San Diego Classic 2nd Round 2016
I agree a missed cut is never good but who knows what conditions Phil may have been stuck playing in and to be stuck there an xtra day if your not in contention for Phil is a waste of time as we know he loses interest. I don't want Jimmy Walker to win because I'm tired of seeing Butch's students doing well when Phil had a 2 year dry spell

Re: Farmers San Diego Classic 2nd Round 2016
I was wondering that myself....for those that played sunday and Monday, does something like that just screw with your golf game and mess up your swing for a week or two, lol.
