And.....2nd hole... from 2nd cut, 230 yrds out, into the WATER. Gee whiz....how much off line was that shot? like 30-45 degrees? maybe a hook?

What an ugly hole....zig zag, back and forth. Sorry Phil, but no way is your play deserving of Presidents Cup offer. I would not expect it, and if in chance it is offered, I hope you would do the honorable thing and decline as it would only make you look that much more foolish if you were to play like this during that venture in Korea.

Im really glad Phil golf is nearing the end. I cant stand this. You keep getting your hopes up and watching him get off to these terrible starts is so frustrating and IRRATATING. I really should go back to following baseball its was much less stressful.

Re: Deutche Bank - Round 4
And his FedEx ranking just went up to 62....if he finishes above 70 and he's not playing next week.

remember he said if he gets picked he would play out the rest of the fed EX cup to stay sharp for the Pres Cup. Does that mean if he still is in top 70 and doesn't get picked he opts out for the rest of the playoffs. I got a feeling that will be the case.

His driving is all over creation.... I can't tell, but is Bones hitting his drives for him today? or is that Phil?

Re: Deutche Bank - Round 4
how can he keep saying he is close for 8 months and play this poorly? Cant hit a fairway and cant putt. I agree with keeping a positive attitude but there comes a point where you gotta wonder is it just the correct way to talk in front of the press.

I doubt anyone believes him anymore, I haven't for the longest time and just roll my eyes when I see him say that.

3 bogies in 5 hole stretch. Amazing (he missed a 6 ft putt for par).

Phil way off in native area with an iron on par 3. Don't believe Im saying this but he is so bad today I wonder if he is trying to end the season after today. People know how inconsistent he is and they would actually believe he can play this poorly BUT I DONT.

Re: Deutche Bank - Round 4
THIS WAS POSTED ON PHILS WEBSITE YESTERDAY
NORTON, MA (Sept. 6, 2015) – After two winless years and too many “Yikes!,” today’s round was full of “Yeahs!” and may have been a turning point, which makes the final round of the Deutsche Bank Championship a big one for Phil Mickelson.
Phil hit 16 greens in regulation at the TPC Boston. That was more than he hit in his first two rounds combined. He also hit eight fairways, which is still not enough, but at least his misses were in the sun and not in the woodsy shade.
“I’m still not making enough putts,’’ said Phil, whose four one-putts were good for two pars and two birdies in the third round, “but I’ve been working on my swing so hard for months.”
His swing plane had gotten so steep that that he wasn’t able to release the club properly. Divots that were supposed to be flying toward the target were flipping off to the right. Only when he was able to manipulate the club with his hands at impact was he getting the flight and shape he wanted. Net result: four top-10s in his last 38 events, since the start of last season.
“Today was the first day it clicked,” Phil said. “I can sense the swing and the shots are back to the level I expect. The toe of the club isn’t hitting the ground first. The divots are where they should be.
“That has me very optimistic about playing. I’m going to go out tomorrow and expect a good day.”

Re: Deutche Bank - Round 4
Now he is wide right....they keep talking about Tiger's 2-way misses, but I never hear that term in relation to Phil...perhaps everyone already knows, he just hits it all over the map?

Re: Deutche Bank - Round 4
This has got to be one of the CRAZIEST ROUNDS that was suppose to be very important to perform well in that Ive ever seen Phil play. And if you read the article I posted from his website he really felt a great round would happen today.

Re: Deutche Bank - Round 4
Well, Phil advances to the BMW, so we'll see what WILL PHIL DO NEXT?
But he climbed up to 62 in FedEx pts and next week the cut off is going to be 30, so he will need one super tournament to be able to squeeze into that 30 (probably has to end up in the top 10? or something like that?).

If he doesn't make the Pres. Cup team. which is unlikely, he may not play.
