Barclays 2015 Round Four
and we look forward to more stuff from Joan on PHIL. PHIL is close. tired of saying that but he has played some great golf this week. The margin of error is so close. Needs a big round to scoop up a top ten.
Re: Barclays 2015 Round Four
Just thought of 1 more funny story . First I gotta say if you have the chance to follow Phil in a pro am do so. It is usually in the morning and there are crowds but not like tournament play so you can hear conversation between everybody. On the very first hole one of the amateurs hit in in the greenside bunker. He was about to hit it out and Phil stopped him. Phil said your aiming at the flag and on this hole you gotta aim up here--it was across the green on higher level Phil showed him where to aim. the guy executed great and the ball hit about 30 feet away from the flag and started to roll down it almost went in and stopped about 3 inches from the hole. The crowd went nuts! Phil and the guy fist bumped and couple spectators yelled "Phil can you caddy for me" Don't know what the amateurs pay to play but with Phil you get your moneys worth. As I said in the round 3 post Phil played great Wednesday the guys were saying how Phil was carrying them all day.

Re: Barclays 2015 Round Four
Did you see this regarding Phil and the backward shot out of a bunker in Round 3?
Phil's Round 3 Theatrics.... backwards shot out of grass bunker. He must have gone for the short par-4 and ended up in a nasty downhill lie on the back raised part of the grass bunker. I think he ends up making par....but it would have been nice if it landed on the green the first try.

Guess Phil wasn't going to take an unplayable lie. At least he still made par

If he tried the traditional method, he probably would have blown the ball well past the hole, if not off the green.

Re: Barclays 2015 Round Four
Well, Phil just made a mess of the 2nd hole making a double and now from -2 down to Even for the tournament and so much for his chances of a Top-10 finish. If he continues like this, he surely won't make it to East Lake, or 'play his way onto the President's Cup' as he indicated.

Well double bogey on 2nd hole. Forget any shot at top ten now.

First double this week.I really don't know what to say anymore about his game.it was all set up by a missed fairway and when he does hit a fairway his approach like on the 1st was 40 feet away with just 120yds out.

PHIL will continue his long streak of having never won an event that his sponsor is the sponsor of.

Re: Barclays 2015 Round Four
Day knows how to drive the ball and drive it well. Perhaps Phil should study his technique, lol, or work with his instructor...oops, who is also his caddy. That's a nice convenience of that pairing, you have your instructor on your bag capable of making informed decisions/suggestions about your swing as you go along.
