PGA championship 2015 1st round
and PHIL surely is starting with the lowest expectations of any major in his career. I can't remember a timer, ever, that PHIL has drawn less notice. In fact several writers have noted this occurrence.
So maybe PHIL will be so low under the radar? let's go PHIL

What a shock to see Dustin Johnson on top of the leaderboard. He has played some great golf this year.
Wow birdied #1 and I will be back in two hours

It's early, but Phil not swinging well. Looks off with his irons.

Phil carries the water on 5 by inches. Great bunker shot and a birdie, back into the red.

Are you talking about the par-5? LOL, the Shot tracker shows "in the water" but next shot is on the green, lol

Another terrible iron shot for Phil on 7, then he hits an unreal bunker shot from an awkward stance...followed up by a miss from five feet.

Big hook off the tee on 8, not sure if that's in the water or it caught the bunker. Phil is not hitting the ball well at all. Lucky to be even.

Another bogey for Phil on 8. Not swinging well at all. Wheels could be falling off here.

Back to back bogies for Phil....poor swings and missed putts....wind and conditions much harder for pm players...when Phil was one under it was tied for best round in front nine with Donald....Lingmieth is going low on back nine but it is playing much easier...hoping Phil can stay around level or even get under par and then get out early and post something.

Another poor iron shot well short of the ninth green. His iron play has been dreadful.

Great chip almost goes in and Phil saves par.
10 and 11 are birdie chances, how he plays them could decide which way this round goes.

Back to even and the winds seem rough
Anything red will be good today

Re: PGA championship 2015 1st round
Bad tee shot left Phil with short sided pitch...no spin out of rough and he will have to hole 24 footer to birdie short par 4 10th

Ohhh man I can't believe that stopped, an inch away from sucking a wedge back in for an eagle.

Great approach from the rough sets up a 12 footer for birdie.

Phil has saved himself with some great recovery shots. Hit it all over the map today, but he's right in the thick of things. Hopefully he's sharper ball striking-wise tomorrow and can shoot something in the 60s.

Good run at birdie on 18 just misses. 72 isn't too bad considering the conditions.

Colin Montgomery said Phil could have easily shot 80 today. EVEN is great for afternoon considering where he hit it.Better conditions in the morning will tell the story
